First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Moffatt & Nichol.
Structural Engineer
First I had a call with a recruiter. Then, I was set up for a phone chat with the regional managers and marketing director. Finally, I was called back for an in-person interview with the regional manager.
- What are your favorite pastimes?
Civil Engineer
I went to the office after my work hours to have a meeting with the Project Manager and the Office Manager. There were four people present in the room, and we sat around a conference table. I started by talking about myself, my current activities, and my career aspirations.
- Can you elaborate on your specific experience and skills?
- Could you list who you have collaborated with previously?
- How do you envision contributing to our team?
Structural Engineer
It was a 1-hour in-person panel interview held in a conference room with 5 people: the BU Leader (who is the hiring manager), the main office Project Manager, and 3 senior Engineers. They inquired about my professional background, asked a few personal questions, and engaged in some light mind games like interrupting me, downplaying my achievements, and trying to assert dominance to gauge my emotional response. They also asked a structural analysis question and some other small technical questions.
