We had a couple of phone calls, first the recruiter called, then the marketing team. After that, I went in person to meet with marketing. Then, I had one more call with the recruiter. An offer came after that.

The interview process was short and brief. I met with the manager and we discussed some options. They asked about my work experience and the classes I've taken. We talked about expectations for the job, relocation, and hours. A review was mandatory. Working from home was mentioned as a possibility. They gave a quick response.

Behavioral Technical

This firm is run by very incompetent people. They wasted my time on an interview telling me my engineering skills are transferable, then rejected me because I did not have the right skills. When I asked for specifics, I was told by their recruiter it was not corporate policy to comment on this. I can only imagine how they work with their employees - which may be nonexistent. The career opportunities are not full-time as I was told the position was part-time. Talk about false advertising. I can only imagine how they lay people off. It makes me wonder if all of their work was done fraudulently. Their hiring practices are very problematic because it shows that the company does not even know what they are looking for in their hires. Even if the hire was not a fit because they lacked a skill, they certainly would not refer someone at this company because they could not give honest feedback. The interviewer was constantly complaining how they could not get people to work at their Hawaii office. They attributed it to low salaries. I believe it is something else like high turnover and bad management. Folks need to not waste their time interviewing with these fools. I would not hire them to run my kid's lemonade stand because they are such bad managers.

It was a 1-hour in-person panel interview held in a conference room with 5 people: the BU Leader (who is the hiring manager), the main office Project Manager, and 3 senior Engineers. They inquired about my professional background, asked a few personal questions, and engaged in some light mind games like interrupting me, downplaying my achievements, and trying to assert dominance to gauge my emotional response. They also asked a structural analysis question and some other small technical questions.
