First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Moe's Southwest Grill.
General Manager
I was contacted by phone to see if I was interested in the role. A phone interview was set up a few days later, lasting about an hour. The questions were pretty basic, so preparing should make it manageable. After that, I had an in-person interview with the franchise owner. It was mainly a chance for me to sell myself. She was really nice and made me feel at ease. I got the job offer two days after that. The whole thing wrapped up in under a week.
- Can you tell me about a time you saw a coworker act unethically? How did you handle it?
General Manager
I had a 6-hour sit-down where the owner mostly talked about her life story. It wasn't professional and felt like a waste of time. She mentioned her husband bought the location and she didn't want to manage it, so she was looking for managers to run her stores. We had the interview at a restaurant and she paid for lunch. I brought my resume, but she was more focused on ordering food than looking at it.
- Are you willing to manage my store since I no longer want any involvement with it?
General Manager
Had a few phone calls, then two in-person interviews. The first was at the closest location, and the second was a few hours away in the main market for our franchise group. It was all very professional and straightforward. They were really focused on how I'd handle customer complaints and what my core leadership values are.
- Honestly, I wasn't expecting the interview process to be so straight forward. Kept it pretty cut and dry.
