Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Modus Create.
Senior Software Engineer
First I spoke with HR to see if we were a good fit. Then, a technical interview with a solution architect and a senior engineer. Finally, I had an interview with the engineering director, which was also technical and included general technical questions.
- Can you elaborate on each of the SOLID principles?
Software Engineer
There were two stages. First, we had an introductory chat to get to know each other better. We discussed my past projects, main duties, and tech stack, and there was some time for general questions about the company. The second stage was a technical call with the company's technical lead. Although the role was for a full-stack position, the interview heavily focused on backend aspects.
- Can you explain how to optimize a database?
- What are the methods for detecting bottlenecks on a backend server?
Senior Software Engineer
So I talked to the recruiter first, and they said they'd get back to me. I had to chase them for an update, and they promised to reply the next day, but... nothing. They just never got back to me.
- HR asked some general questions.
