After they quickly acknowledged my resume, I got invited to meet with the Group Publisher and the office staff. It was a good experience overall and I got an offer for the Los Angeles office.

I applied for the job on Modernluxury.com and heard back a couple of days later to set up an interview. The interview itself was really laid back and conversational. They were mostly trying to get a feel for my background and see if I'd be a good fit, plus answer any questions I had.

I went through an interview for an account executive role. The interviewer was nice and had publishing industry experience. A former colleague suggested I research current advertisers and inquire about which accounts would be part of this role and the ratio of existing to new business. This advice was helpful because I found out during the interview that the position was focused on new business development. It would have been a good role for someone experienced in developing new accounts, but it wasn't the right fit for me.
