MOD Worldwide Interview Questions
& Process

This company had a total of 7 interviews, with 5 conducted over Zoom, one in-person, and the final one via phone. While I don't mind a thorough process, this one felt chaotic and disorganized. It's also confusing because the job was filled after my fifth round, so I'm not sure why they continued. One of the owners had to reschedule multiple times, and our final conversation was through her car speaker, which felt unprofessional. Additionally, two people I interacted with during the process quit suddenly. One of them even advised me to look elsewhere after sharing their experience at Mod. I feel like I may have dodged a bullet.

The interview started with two team members and the CEO joined us for part of it. Everyone was really nice and other employees even introduced themselves. The office was professional but fun, and there was a cute chihuahua there. The interview went for about 45 minutes, and we had a good talk about what daily life is like at the office, the kind of work they do, and they asked me questions about myself and my background. They said I'd hear back in two weeks if it was a good fit.

I had to wait around for 30 minutes because they couldn't get the team together to meet with me. They seemed really busy and like interviewing me was an inconvenience. I was supposed to meet with four people, but they ended up sending whoever they could find. After some shuffling around, I was called in. The people who met me hadn't even read my resume, so they just asked me about my past work. They also seemed pretty negative about the company, the hours, and their own work. I overheard comments like 'don't expect work-life balance' and 'don't expect creative work.' They seemed rushed and like they'd rather be doing their own tasks. One person even mentioned having to cut the interview short because she didn't want to stay any later than her usual late nights. I didn't act very enthusiastic, probably making a few faces, and they never even followed up.

The interview started with a big InDesign test where I had to import data from Excel and use styles for formatting. Lots of proofreading was needed too. After that, I came in for the interview. It was in this really small room with all the designers crammed at tables. They sat me at the end of one, which was super awkward but I could see the miserable vibe. They rushed the interview cause they had a call. The CEO walked me out and complained about some employees, which was a red flag. I was worried about overtime and didn't want the job, but they didn't offer it.
