The hiring process was confusing and unclear. I was given a take-home design task but didn’t get any feedback on it. I had two more interviews without knowing which rounds they were. After almost a month of waiting, I received an automated rejection 2 days after the head of design call. The recruiter call felt very robotic and was the worst interview I’ve ever had. I emailed several times to ask for more information about the process, but I never got a response. The only communication I received was to let me know I was moving to the next round. During the call, the intro sounded scripted, and I’m pretty sure they didn’t even know my name. It felt really disrespectful. To add to this, they asked me a math question during the call, some probability question. Process: Take-home assignment, recruiter call, head of design call (culture fit), Portfolio walkthrough, offer. Hiring manager interview was quite casual and informal. Asked some random questions. They explained in detail about their typical startup working style and the demanding 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. schedule.

The interviewer was late, and I felt a general lack of interest in hiring. There were some dull moments, and after looking at other reviews and the generic job description, I suspect these might be ghost postings. They also contacted me for an associate role despite my 4 years of experience, which was strange given other offers I've received.

This was one of the worst interview experiences I've had, interviewing at over 40 companies. After the initial recruiter screen, there was a challenging take-home assignment due in 3 days. I had to design a whole feature and several flows for Mochi Health's product, which took me about 10 hours. I then progressed to the hiring manager interview. However, just a day after moving forward, I was rejected because the position was canceled instead of being filled. No feedback or acknowledgment was given. It seems Mochi Health is more interested in filtering candidates for unpaid labor than assessing their skills. Other reviews suggest this company often disregards the human element in applications.
