Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MobyMax.
Sales
The interview process included a phone interview, followed by a role-play exercise with the new CFO and the director of sales. The role-play was unusual and designed to assess whether a candidate would strictly follow a script and focus on getting work done, or if they demonstrated creativity.
- The sales manager seemed to have her own agenda, making the specific questions less important. Her focus was on identifying candidates who would adhere to her script, avoid asking questions, and refrain from seeking growth within the role. Her ideal candidate is someone who can knuckle down, focus on the work, and lacks personal flair.
- The new CFO appears to be considering making changes, though it's too early to definitively say. Any shifts might become apparent in a year or two.
Sales Representative
It's a two step interview process with good communication. I first spoke with the Chief Revenue Officer. I was nervous at first, but he was great. He was down-to-earth, friendly, and let me ask as many questions as he did. He was really honest about the job, making sure I understood the good and the bad. Then, I had a role play with a sales manager. Overall, it was a good experience.
- What makes you want to join MobyMax and what makes you the best candidate for us?
- Why should we hire you over other candidates?
Sales Representative
Had phone interviews that included a personality quiz, a typing test, and a grammar test. The final interview round was a role play. The phone interviews began with questions about background and company culture, and a review of my experience and familiarity with software sales or education. Management was very open to questions and responsive.
- How would you approach getting past a gatekeeper to reach your intended prospect?
