The interviewer was quite arrogant and awkward. He expected me to be fluent in French, English, and my native language, despite French not being mentioned in the job description. He commented on the diverse mix of cultures in Sydney and seemed to imply that accents are not understood, while also stating he'd pay minimum wage. He was looking for someone enthusiastic about the products.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

Got approached by a headhunter. The interview process was pretty standard, no real surprises. It started with an HR round, then a line manager, and finally an upper manager. The HR interview focused on my background, motivation, and past work experiences. The language requirement wasn't super high; intermediate level was fine. The line manager interview was very quick, more about making an impression than a deep dive. The second-line manager interview, who is the boss of the team I'd be joining, was much more detailed. Since I was switching functions, he was really curious about my reasons and spent a good amount of time on that. He then presented some common scenarios and asked how I'd respond, like how to communicate cross-functionally and what's important for a brand.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • How would you go about communicating with and influencing senior sales team members?
  • How do you communicate with people in other departments?
  • What are the key elements that define a brand?
