This was an amazing team and a very well thought out candidate experience. The culture really shows in the way they talk and present themselves. They have amazing growth from 2021 to 2026. It took me 2 weeks to wrap up the interview process.

Had an interview with the recruiting lead, then a recruiting exercise, followed by an onsite interview with a hiring manager partner, tech recruiting lead, and the head of talent. The conversations were generally okay, but the teammate interview was a negative experience. The teammate was late without an apology and only left one minute for Q&A before abruptly ending the interview. It felt dismissive, especially not getting a chance to thank them. I received a generic rejection email afterwards, which is disappointing given the lack of feedback or a call.

The recruiting manager was unprofessional, to say the least. Every interaction with him was an unpleasant experience. Given that we had similar backgrounds, it was almost as if he felt I would be a threat to his position. Since we both knew someone in common within our networks, I kept my cool during the onsite interview. This recruiting team needs to reassess what it is they're actually hiring for, because there are only so many "top 10 CS" or "top universities" type candidates to recruit from. Eventually, you'll need to realize that you have to hire people based on skill. As in this case, interviewing with a manager who felt threatened by a candidate with a skill set that rivaled his, and hence his enjoyment at rejecting my candidacy.
