Support Engineer
I heard some candidates get ghosted for 2-3 weeks after submitting a take home assessment on time, and I experienced something similar. The process had a lot of rounds and the waiting time between hearing back was super long. Honestly, I don't think the process should be this long for a support engineer. For questions, just learn about the company and check out their products, their graphs, etc., and you'll be alright. It's mostly a vibe check.

Support Engineer
The job ended up being for a Level 1 Support Engineer. I applied online and then a recruiter reached out. The first step was an online take-home assignment that had a 30-minute time limit. It involved answering a sample customer email question. Honestly, it wasn't super hard if you just read the question and looked at the image, but checking their docs first would've been smart. After that, I had a 30-minute recruiter phone screen. Then, I got to a 60-minute interview with a Level 3 Support Engineer. They asked a bunch of behavioral questions and one technical question where I had to calculate a conversion rate using some numbers. Near the end, they told me a support question verbally with some values and asked me to think about it and email them my answer as if I were the customer. The point was clearly to see if I could take good notes and then write back a clear summary and suggestion to the customer. Oh, and also to make sure I got the email address right. I didn't get to the next round and they sent an email saying 'After careful consideration'.

Customer Support Engineer
I had a recruiter call first to talk about the job offer. They let me know the job is remote or can be done from their office in Bogatell, Barcelona. I was asked to complete a form, which is like a test to see if I'm a good fit. After that, the next step was a take-home assignment. It's like a real customer question and you have 30 minutes to do it. The instructions said to respond as if I were a support engineer at Mixpanel and that the quiz would close automatically after 30 minutes, so I should only start when I have uninterrupted time. I got an email with the form and test 5 minutes after the call, and I had 30 minutes to finish it.
- Can you share why you left your last job?
- Respond to this customer inquiry: "Hey Mixpanel Team! Quick question, I'm reviewing a funnel report right now, and the conversion rates are not really making sense in my head. Please look at the attached image below. In the 3rd step, message delivered, it says before the step that the conversion rate is 65.8%, but when I click on it, it says 2811 unique users and says 39.5% instead. Both numbers seem pretty far off from each other. Thanks- Charlie"
