It was a well-organized and professional interview that gave me a feel for the company culture. First, there was a screening, then I spoke with team members and hiring managers. They kept me informed about each step. The interviewers asked good questions about my experience and skills. I liked that I could talk about my background and learn more about the job and company. All in all, it felt put together and respectful, letting me show what I can do and also see what the company looks for.

It took about 6 weeks and had 7 steps: first a chat with HR, then a technical interview, a talk with the hiring manager, a design challenge, two chats with stakeholders, and a final meeting with the CEO. The process was longer than usual, but it was good to meet many potential colleagues. This gave me a better sense of the team dynamics and helped me decide when I had multiple offers. They really focus on culture fit throughout, checking it in every stage. This is awesome because it makes sure we are aligned.

The whole process took over 2 months and had 6 interviews, a big assignment, and a presentation on their specific niche. A recruiter contacted me about the role, saying it was a good fit. After all that, they said my experience wasn't quite right, which they could have told me way sooner. I think they used the process to get free ideas for their business strategy since the assignment was perfect for their niche. It feels like they didn't plan to hire anyone and just wanted to crowdsource ideas.

My interview experience at Mixbook was confusing and unprofessional, despite being told it would be long. There were about 15-16 interviews, including in-person meetings with the CEO and leadership. The recruiter kept in touch and was always positive, even saying the CEO was wondering why I hadn't gotten an offer yet. I felt good after an executive team session, which was supposed to be the last step before a 90-minute meeting with the CEO the next day. The session, led by the CEO's coach, went well and got good feedback. But, hours later, the talent lead called to cancel the next day's meeting. She said I was great but they needed someone who had scaled a company of their size and could 'see around corners,' which didn't make sense given my background and what we'd discussed. A few days later, the recruiter told me the recruiting team had been laid off right after the executive session. She said the CEO wanted to talk to me and offer feedback. When I emailed the CEO, he just said they'd already hired someone and I could talk to his coach for feedback. This was different from what the recruiter said about the search continuing. His referral to his coach also left me baffled. The whole recruiting process was drawn-out, the communication was all over the place, and I felt like my time and effort weren't valued. It felt unprofessional and dishonest. I've never written a review before, but I wanted to warn others about wasting their time with a company that treats candidates badly and seems unstable financially.
