Frontend Developer
First, I had a chat with HR for some basic intro questions. Then, I met with two developers. They asked me a few personal questions and then we dove into some technical stuff. I also had to do a technical interview where I coded a mockup they gave me.

Web Developer
I went through a phone interview/screen. I think it went okay overall. They asked about my past salary and my work history. It seems like they have a fixed salary for each role/level. While I get the upfront honesty ('Based on what you said, we offer starting of XX'), I think it might discourage good candidates, especially if the phone screen asks about previous salary and expected salary. If their starting offer is not good or even less than my current salary, people might look elsewhere and the company could miss out on great talent. That's just my two cents.

Web Developer
It started with a phone interview with HR. You gotta be careful what you say here. They'll ask if you're cool with a $40k salary and a bonus that could get you another $10k a year. Watch out for this! If you agree to the lowball salary offer (it could be higher depending on you, but still not great), don't think you can negotiate later. If you ask for more, they'll end the interview. If you get past that, you'll have an in-person interview with the department director and maybe two managers or team leads who know their stuff. They'll ask you a mix of technical and personal questions, some based on your resume. After they decide, you'll get an email if it's a no, or a call if it's a yes. For web developers, they might even send a welcome card with candy.

Account Manager
I started with a 30-minute phone interview with the HR manager. It was a good chance for me to learn more about the company and the role, and for them to see if I was a good fit. The next week, I came in for an in-person interview. I met with two HR folks and two people from Professional Services. The whole thing took about an hour. The HR people asked general questions about my organizational skills and past work experience. The Professional Services team went into more technical questions about my skills and what the job involves. They really dug in to see if you knew your stuff and were qualified. After the interviews, they showed me around their amazing office! It was a really positive experience, probably the best I've had. I got an offer and they even sent me chocolates and a welcome card, which was a really nice surprise and a great way to kick things off. I'd definitely recommend working at Miva!
- Can you describe how you maintain organization in your work?
