I applied because the company was looking for a bilingual student and I got an email from my university. After I expressed interest, I was asked to sign up on career forum network. Then I had a 1 on 1 interview in London and handed in my resume. A week later, I got a phone call saying I passed for the final interview in Japan. Back in Japan, I took the final interview which included a personality test and IQ test (tamate bako, their original test). The interview itself was only 20 minutes with two interviewers, likely the head of HR.

Behavioral Other

The interview process felt unprofessional, with one interviewer not even introducing himself. Two interviewers seemed overly focused on my origins, despite me being born and raised in the USA, asking repeatedly where I was from and where I currently live. It felt reminiscent of high school, honestly. I didn't even realize it was an interview until the third person, who was friendly and professional, approached. I initially thought they were just trying to get to know me. I was asked to ask for a specific person, which I did, but then never saw him again. While not unnerving, I was put off by how much my origin became a focal point, especially when its importance wasn't highlighted in the interview. They also had me complete an application, which is usual, even though I applied online. However, they didn't seem to access the information I'd already provided, which most places do. It's also a full commission-based role.

Behavioral Technical Other

After resume screening, there's a preliminary interview which includes behavioral and language (Japanese/English) parts. Then, you'll take a numeric test handled by an outside agency. The first round interview had four interviewers (two senior, two junior). You need to introduce yourself in Japanese or English since management is mostly Japanese.
