Met with 3 HR folks, they were super nice. We talked about my work history, why I'm interested in this role, and my reasons for moving on from my last job. Pretty standard stuff. The office has a great view of Marina Bay Sands.

I was invited for a face-to-face interview at their office in Alexander. There was just one round of interview with the hiring manager before they made an offer. The office was easy to find.

The interview process was quite long, lasting nearly two hours. While the interviewers were polite, they asked for things that should have been communicated by the agency beforehand. The role apparently required a very high level of Japanese customer service and also acting as a therapist for expats from conservative business backgrounds. Although the interviewer did save me time by pointing out my skills weren't a match, they gave unsolicited job-hunting advice that felt like mansplaining, even though I had already indicated I was doing those things. Reflecting on it, I felt insulted but also glad not to have been hired.
