Standard interview process. Started with a phone screen, followed by two virtual interviews with the hiring manager and the team. Then there was a final in-person meeting. After that, it went radio silent, got ghosted, and the application still says under consideration after almost 2 months. Very disappointed with how they conducted the overall process.

The hiring process was really long. I applied in late November and had my phone screen in early January. After that, they asked for a writing sample. Then, I had a panel interview at the start of February. I got a rejection in March. It was weird because I was interviewing for two different project teams and one of the interviewers didn't even show up for my panel interview. We waited around for ten minutes for them to arrive. The staff were nice, but the whole recruitment experience felt pretty unprofessional.

The interviews at MITRE are usually pretty laid-back, but they can get pretty technical depending on the specific role. First, HR reached out and I had a 1-hour chat with them that mostly covered MITRE's vibe. After that, I spoke with the person who would be my direct manager to go over the job details more deeply. Lastly, I met with the associate department head and the department head to discuss how I'd fit into the department's team setup and what kind of projects I might work on.
