Software Engineer
The interview process had three rounds. The first was a technical screening with questions on JAVA, Spring, SpringBoot, and Microservices, which I passed. The second was a managerial round focusing on management and technical management skills, which I also passed. The third round was an unexpected technical round. It felt like they were looking for reasons to disqualify me or find a tricky reason to reject me. I had to wait 20 days for feedback, and it turned out to be negative.

Software Engineer
Met with 8 different people, sometimes in pairs, over 3-4 hours. Started with introductions and company info, then moved to System Design, Algorithm, and Front-end questions. Wrapped up with a few more algorithm and scope/closure questions. The last person I was supposed to meet was on PTO, so I met with a VP of Engineering instead. He seemed unhappy to be there, sighed a lot, and gave very short answers. He questioned my bootcamp background and its potential payoff, which I found insulting given my peers' experiences at top tech companies. He then criticized one of my past projects, asking its utility and user base. I explained its use case, but he just laughed smugly. It was a very negative experience, possibly the worst I've had. I understand the company's negative reviews for engineering and management after this.
- Can you design a system for a chat application?
- Write a function to determine if two binary trees are mirrors of each other.
