Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mitchell 1.
Inside Sales
I was contacted by a recruiter on Craigslist. The first step was a phone interview, then I completed an assessment test. Following that, I had an interview with the recruiter, and then I was scheduled for an interview with Mitchell1. The interview itself involved a 1-on-1 session with two people, which went really well. They asked basic questions about my past experience. It's important to research the company beforehand and know what they sell and do; they really appreciate that. During the interview, they asked me to sell them something over the phone, and we did a role play. So, be ready for that. They want to gauge how you present a sales pitch. I'd recommend focusing on the benefits of what you're selling, creating a sense of urgency, and so on. The entire process took about 2 weeks.
- Let's role play a phone sale where you try to sell me something of your choosing.
Inside Sales Representative
The interview process was totally unprofessional. One of the two interviews involved profanity. They then spring some role play game which you're not prepared for in one bit. They describe it as one of the best opportunities and rushed me in to get an interview and got the standard 'we went with more qualified candidates' in less than an hour after I left. The place seems like a glorified call center with no real advancement available.
- How coachable are you and how well do you take direction?
Sales
management came up to meet and discuss after an afternoon meeting and after a phone conversation, and also a review of my resume! to discuss when and where and what the position was and all the commission details !
- Can you elaborate on your sales experience?
