Technical Coding Behavioral System Design

It was a 3-stage process. First, a 30-min call with a technical recruiter to check qualifications and fit. Second, a 60-min technical coderpad interview over the phone with a Principal Engineer. Lastly, a 4-hour onsite visit with four separate interviews: one behavioral with a Product Owner, one executive with a Director, one technical with a Principal Engineer, and a system design interview with the engineering manager. All the interviews were friendly, positive, and insightful, with plenty of chances to ask questions. Everyone I talked to seemed knowledgeable and transparent.

Technical Coding System Design Behavioral

This lead role interview process had seven stages: a recruiter call, two live coding sessions, a systems design round, a behavioral interview, an operations interview, and a final hiring manager chat. The recruiter was professional. The whole thing took about three weeks. I was told I didn't pass the second live coding round even though my solution was correct and within the time limit, so no offer was made. I did great on all the other parts. It felt like the company is too political for its size, the engineers seem insecure, and it lacks direction. Mission Lane is actually Lend Up, which is a predatory lender that got sued, so I wouldn't have accepted anyway. Their pay is also below market. My advice is to prepare for better jobs, but use this interview for practice.

Behavioral Coding System Design Presentation

So the interview process started with an intro call with the recruiter. Then there were four interviews with the engineers and product team, which I asked to split over two days. The first was with the PM, where it was more about picking a business use case and asking questions for clarification. Then there were two live coding rounds with the Engineering Team, one focused on front end and the other a LeetCode style problem. The last one was a system design interview with one of the full stack devs, covering API design, design patterns, and discussing my opinions. Finally, there was a final interview with the Hiring Manager.
