I'm giving one star because I can't give zero. As a freelancer, they made me go through 4 interviews in 4 weeks, only to give me negative feedback in the end. There were 2 technical interviews, where they repeated all the questions, and 2 HR interviews (same process for a permanent contract or a freelancer). If you're Google, you can afford to do 4 interviews. You'd think it's for a director position, but it's just for a freelance developer role to do CRUD... It's a lot for a freelance CRUD developer role.

So I had this interview back in June for a Java developer role in Paris, and I wanna share how it went. It kicked off with a quick chat to see if I was a good fit and if my career goals matched what they were looking for. Then came the main part, which was four interviews total: two technical ones and two focused on company values. Everything was done online over about two weeks. The first technical interview was with an Architect and a Developer. We talked Java, data structures, and Spring, plus some real-world stuff like performance issues. It was pretty chill, and they didn't grill me on things I didn't know. The second technical interview was with a Team Manager and Developer. This one dug more into my past experiences and how I handled technical challenges. The values interviews were with a Lead Developer first, checking if my values lined up with theirs, and then with HR, looking at my soft skills and cultural fit. They really seemed to know how to tell if someone would fit in. For prepping, definitely use the STAR method – it was a lifesaver for both technical and values parts, keeping my answers focused. Overall, it was a solid, well-run process, all remote. It might feel tough if you're not ready, but using STAR, even for tech questions, really helps.

Ensuite, il y a eu un premier entretien technique pour discuter en détail de mes expériences, suivi de questions sur Java, Spring, les bases de données (BDD), les méthodologies et le CI/CD. Cet entretien technique a été suivi d'un entretien d'expertise. Après cela, j'ai eu deux entretiens axés sur les valeurs : un avec un Tech Lead et un autre avec un RH, pour vérifier si mes valeurs correspondaient à celles de Mirakl, en utilisant la méthode STAR pour raconter des anecdotes. Finalement, j'ai reçu une offre.
