It was a pretty standard interview process for a Product Manager role. I talked to the hiring manager first. Then I had more interviews with people from different teams. There was also a hands-on case study that was pretty interesting and tested my product sense. Recruiting kept me in the loop the whole time, and everything felt smooth from the start all the way to the offer.

This process was way too long and bloated. I had two 30-minute interviews initially, then got an interview assignment that took me 5 hours to complete (it was 4 parts, each could be its own assignment). They then invited me to a 3rd interview, which I thought would be the last, where I'd meet 5 people for 30 minutes each. I had already put in 9 hours by then. They got back to me a week or two later saying they wanted a 4th interview, and possibly a 5th. This felt like they were making things up as they went along and was a huge waste of my time. In the 4th interview, I was asked questions I'd already answered. I didn't understand the point of the previous interviews and the assignment. I also got mixed signals about the company culture; while people said it was collaborative, the interview process suggested decisions were heavily top-down, needing CEO approval. Ultimately, they rejected me after I invested almost 10 hours. I felt I did well in the earlier stages and proved my capabilities. However, the interviewer in the final round didn't like some of my answers, and since they were a senior person, my application was rejected. Minted might think this lengthy process shows they are selective, but it likely just drives away good candidates and makes them look indecisive, which they admitted is true since it's a top-down environment. Job seekers, heed the warnings in previous reviews; they are accurate. Watch out for red flags.

It was a very long process with 10 interviews. It started with a recruiter call and then a call with the hiring manager. After that, there was a take-home exercise that was supposed to take 3 hours but ended up taking over 12 hours to complete. The onsite interviews were extensive, with 5 interviews involving all the teams I would work with, some of which were 2:1. Then there were 2 more interviews with VPs, primarily focused on fit. Finally, there was a call with the CEO. Honestly, the whole process was exhausting, and they really dug deep to understand me. 10 interviews felt like a lot, and I think so many opinions weren't necessary. Scheduling was tricky with the VPs, which led to long waits, and some VPs even cancelled last minute. The company was responsive overall, though. I made it to the final interview but was ultimately dinged, despite positive feedback from earlier rounds, suggesting the CEO had the final say. The whole thing took about 1.5 months.
