I interviewed with HR, then was given a project to complete before meeting anyone on the hiring team. I finished the project, which took hours, only to be told the hiring manager felt it wasn't testing the right skills and asked if I'd mind doing a second project. This was all before meeting anyone besides HR. I passed. They seemed unsure of what they were looking for, and the disorganization and disrespect for a candidate's time was very disappointing. They should have figured out the job and its main requirements before asking for time-consuming projects. It didn't seem like a good place to work. Such a great brand, but a terrible interview experience.

I applied online and the next thing was an email asking me to complete design projects. Actually, they asked for multiple design projects, and these weren't short either, each one taking hours. It's kind of surprising the projects came before any kind of interview. I feel like it's pretty standard for projects to come after a phone interview, because it can be a waste of time for candidates to do hours of free work if they aren't even going to be considered for the job.

Applied via Craigslist for a design role. Showed up with many others applying for design or customer service jobs. It was a quick, high-volume interview process. They can tell your experience from your work, so the discussion was brief. I presented my portfolio and resume. After a few questions, I was hired on the spot!
