I got contacted by Patty D, one of MPG's recruiters. She was super communicative. After I spoke with her, I had an hour-long call with the hiring manager, which was really comfortable and he answered all my questions. Then, I met the hiring manager and his manager in person in their D.C. office. I spent about two hours with them, and I think I asked them more questions than they asked me. It was a great interview experience overall.
- The interview started with some basic security questions, and then moved into scenario-based questions about what I would do in specific situations related to the job requirements.
- What would you do in this specific situation?
Consultant
The whole thing took about two weeks and was all remote 'cause of COVID. It kicked off with a quick chat with a Recruiter, then a one-on-one phone call with the Project Manager. After that, there was a technical interview with the Project Manager and another team member, though it was supposed to be more people but they had a scheduling mix-up.
- Can you explain the difference between XSS and CSRF?
- Could you describe DOM-based XSS?
- Walk us through your approach to penetration testing for a week-long project.
Consultant
I applied online via Indeed and heard back from a recruiter within a week. The process had 3 parts: 2 phone interviews and a final Skype interview with 2 managers. The final interview was supposed to be in-person, but they switched it to Skype which was convenient given my busy work week.
- What were your responsibilities as an ISSO?
