User Experience Designer
I was contacted by the company's internal recruiter, likely via Dice or Creative Hotlist, to set up an initial phone interview with my potential hiring manager. The first scheduled call didn't happen as they missed it, but the recruiter reached out again, apologized saying "something came up", and rescheduled. This time, the hiring manager called as planned for about an hour. It felt like a peer-to-peer conversation, and we clicked professionally. I feel the next step is up to me to decide if I want to move forward. It sounds like a good opportunity, but after a decade of freelancing, I'm unsure about returning to full-time employment.
- Did you encounter any tricky questions during this informal meet-and-greet?
Channel Marketing Specialist
I applied and heard nothing for 3 months. Then a recruiter who had been hired to fill the role reached out. I had a great connection with the recruiter. We had phone interviews, then I met with the VP of Marketing and the Director of Channels. After that, I had a 3-hour in-person interview. Everyone was nice and the job sounded interesting. However, they changed the requirements for the position and ended up hiring someone with a completely different skillset. It took me contacting the recruiter multiple times over 2 weeks to find out that, even though I was a final round candidate, they hadn't told me about the business change or that the position was eliminated.

Customer Success Manager
A Senior Manager reached out via Monster and scheduled an interview for the next day. Upon arrival, there was a significant wait, followed by the manager admitting they forgot about the meeting, which I found unprofessional and a disregard for my time. The manager was new and likely no longer with the company. While I didn't receive an offer, the poor initial impression made me uninterested.
- What motivates you to want to join Mindjet?
- What makes you a suitable candidate for this role?
Software Engineer
First I spoke with a recruiter and one of the developers at the company. They asked me about my programming background and then some general JavaScript questions. After that, I had an on-site interview with three people, including the lead developer. This part involved coding questions on a computer, white-boarding, and logic problems. I also met with a UI designer and a product manager.
- Can you explain the distinction between an Angular factory and a service?
