I got a call from a recruiter and it was a really good conversation! I asked for feedback, and the recruiter gave me all positive feedback and said they'd be in touch soon. They even sent an email right after with more info. But then, the recruiter never got back to me. I tried reaching out a few times, even asking directly if they had already picked someone else, and I was completely ignored. This is super unprofessional and disrespectful to candidates. I'm bummed because I was really looking forward to the job, but honestly, if this is how they operate, I probably dodged a bullet.

Behavioral Presentation

So I had an initial phone screen with a MindBody recruiter where they asked me general stuff about myself, my background, and what I'm looking for career-wise. After that, they invited me to come in person to their Atlanta office. That's when things went south. They wanted me to prep a presentation and demo of their product. For a sales role, this is pretty standard, but they gave me zero info to study. I'd never used their system before, so I didn't know where to start. They suggested checking YouTube, where I found some really old videos that were barely enough to put something together. I went into the in-person interview pretty psyched. I got there early, but nobody seemed to know who I was, why I was there, or who I was meeting. I waited in the lobby while they figured it out. Eventually, I was taken to a room to meet one person in person and one on a conference call. It was obvious they weren't paying attention to each other because they kept asking the same questions, and I could see them clicking around on their laptops while I was talking, which was super disrespectful. Then, when it was time for my demo, they told me I only had about 5 minutes because they had to leave. I had prepared a 20-minute presentation. To make matters worse, they didn't even have a way for me to show my presentation on screen. They expected me to bring my own laptop, which was never mentioned! I had to try and do the demo from memory. So incredibly unprofessional.

I applied online through Indeed.com for their new office in Atlanta and got contacted the next day by Alana for a phone interview. This call was basically to screen us for qualifications. Since I was moving to Georgia the next month, she set up a second interview with Mr. Sanford. I got to the interview 45 minutes early, and he had someone else before me. I waited patiently, and then we talked about my previous sales experience and how I felt about cold calling. He gave me a job offer right then and there. I really felt like this could be a long-term career for me, and I'm happy I'm now part of the Mindbody team!
