So the interview had 3 parts. First was a code review, where I had to look at a Java merge request with tests and find problems. Second was system design, I had to design a movie booking system. Third was a chat with the manager about my background.

It was all very fast and streamlined. First, a 15 minute call with an external recruiter, then a 15 minute call with an internal recruiter. After that, a 30 minute behavioral interview with the hiring manager, and finally a 1 hour technical interview with a team member.

It was going good and then took a nosedive. First, there was an HR Screening, where they were really helpful and perhaps the only good thing about the interview process. Then a Technical Interview involving pair programming and solving a problem. It was alright, interviewers were helpful and guided me in the correct direction. The next technical interview was supposed to have 2 interviewers, but only 1 attended, and the 2nd guy forgot about it and joined 15 minutes late and tried to take over the interview. I was already answering a question by the 1st guy and we were kind of discussing back and forth on a problem, but the 2nd interviewer wanted to ask his own questions before our discussion came to an end. That did put me off, and it was still okay. Then the 2nd interviewer asked a few basic questions and expected a textbook answer in proper jargon. I was explaining the concept, and he stopped me to ask if I knew the exact word for it. I realized the tone and no longer wanted to participate in the interview, and we closed it shortly after. Overall, I'm happy I wasn't selected because I consider myself lucky not to work in an environment where 2 people can't work together for 60 minutes.
