We went through a few rounds of interviews. Some of the questions felt a bit repeated. The final stage involved me creating and delivering a presentation about the pros and cons of the product in the current market. They also threw in some follow-up questions after the presentation, like asking for my strategy on persuading customers to purchase the product.

It was a long and confusing interview process. I ended up talking to pretty much everyone in the office. The group interviews were typically messy and unorganized. They asked why the previous sales rep left, and I wasn't told the real reason at the time, but later found out he was working for a competitor while still employed here. His sales pipeline was full of made-up stuff, with no actual potential deals. Prospects said the reason they didn't buy was because the rep was rude or never responded.

The recruitment process was quite smooth and professional, especially after the recruitment consultant got things organized. I was quickly moved to a meeting with the Sales Director, which was great for assessing if Mimecast's sales culture would be a good fit for me early on. I also met with the EMEA GM, which provided a high-level company overview and showed Mimecast's commitment to the hiring process. The Sales Director and I had several phone chats during our respective holidays, which helped keep the conversation active. A panel interview with the Tech team gave me insight into their Pre-Sales mindset. The process concluded with a final discussion with the Sales Director to address any remaining questions.
