The initial phone screen seemed to be conducted by an AI, though it wasn't explicitly confirmed. It was a Microsoft Teams call with audio only, and the questions felt very scripted and impersonal. There were noticeable pauses between questions, likely for the interviewer to type up my answers for the hiring manager. Some questions seemed irrelevant to the role, like asking about customer experience for a lab scientist position when the job description didn't mention any customer interaction. The advertised salary range was misleading; it appeared to be the state's market average, and the actual budget for the job was significantly lower than the upper end of the posted range, which felt disrespectful. There was also no chance to ask my own questions as a candidate. Overall, it was a terrible candidate experience.

It was super tough to get the interviews set up, and the recruiters were always running behind schedule. They kept asking the same questions again and again. It was a really annoying process, so I didn't bother going any further than the first calls.

I was first emailed about setting up a phone interview. During the phone interview three people asked me various questions concerning the job. After the phone interview, a physical interview was scheduled where I met with 6 employees. The entire interview lasted 4 hours. I didn't get the job but wasn't notified one way or another. So I would recommend contacting the hiring manager to find out if the position is still open.
