First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MilliporeSigma.
Quality Engineer
the first interview was a phone screening, then I had another call with HR, after that I spoke with the lead engineer and finally the hiring manager interviewed me. the interview went good and I answered all the questions.
- Were there behavior questions asked?
- Were there few technical questions?
Quality Engineer
I applied online on a Thursday night. A recruiter called me by Friday afternoon to set up an interview for the following Tuesday. I had five 30-minute one-on-one interviews with people from HR, the lab, quality, and R&D. They asked basic questions, some about my experience with job duties from the description. They also asked about my long-term living plans to see if I planned to stay in the area for a career. I got to ask a lot of questions about the work environment and got a quick tour of the plant. Three days later, a different recruiter called to schedule a one-hour interview with the supervisor I'd report to, which was a week after that. He asked the same questions as before and answered my job-specific questions. I got the offer an hour after that second interview. It took 15 days from application to offer. The background check, drug screening, and credential verification through a third party was a headache and I wasn't sure I'd start on time, but it worked out.
- What would you say is your biggest weakness?
- Tell me about a group project that didn't go as planned and how you handled it. What would you do differently?
- Why are you interested in working here?
Quality Specialist
Applied online, got a call back for a phone interview within a week. About 10 minutes into the call, they asked for my current salary. After I stated my salary expectations and that I wouldn't accept less, they said thanks and that my resume would be put on hold. Less than 3 hours later, I got an email inviting me to an onsite interview. A follow-up call informed me the hiring manager was eager to meet. The onsite interview was a week later. The manager and team were great, and the interview questions were standard. The onsite concluded with a debrief with HR. I received a call less than a week later saying the salary range was below my acceptable threshold. The team was great, but the recruiter/HR experience was terrible. I wouldn't have accepted an offer even with a counter if recruitment and HR couldn't communicate effectively with the company.
