It started with a resume screening and then some written samples. After that, there was a 35-minute interview with a manager. The whole thing took ages, which was a bit confusing. There wasn't much info on what stage was next.

This was the worst interview experience out of the seven I've had. Maybe it's because of the Merck KgA and Millipore Sigma merger, but it's been 3 years. It felt like the hiring manager and HR rep weren't on the same page. There were 2 interviews first, one with HR and one with the hiring manager. Then they flew me to St. Louis for an on-site interview. Everyone seemed uninterested, like they were being forced to hire someone. I did my best, and the hiring manager said I'd hear back in a week. For the next 8 weeks, it was just 'we'll let you know next week.' The communication was terrible. I finally found out I didn't get the job. Honestly, I probably would have turned it down anyway after seeing so many signs of a dysfunctional workplace.
