Then, you'll have a more conversational interview with a scholar, and they might ask you a couple of tougher research questions towards the end. Make sure you show you're really interested in what the scholar is working on.

The chat lasted about 30 mins, with questions covering typical interview stuff as well as current events and U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East. Then, I had to do a writing task within 24 hours, summarizing two news articles. MEI got back to me a couple weeks later saying no offer.
