You'll first chat with the internship coordinator, then you'll meet some of the scholars. The coordinator interview is pretty chill, with some questions about research and your behavior. Then, you'll have a more conversational interview with a scholar, and they might ask you a couple of tougher research questions towards the end. Make sure you show you're really interested in what the scholar is working on.

The interview was conducted over Zoom and was quite straightforward, lasting about 35 minutes. All the questions were typical behavioral ones, nothing surprising. It felt pretty relaxed, actually, more than I thought it would be.

The interview process was very quick, brief and professional. It was conducted over the phone by the Director of the program and I got a reply really fast. The Director then gave me a more detailed overview of my roles, working hours and what was expected of me as an intern. They have a lot of intern turnover – more than half the company are interns - so they are used to dealing with them.

The interview process took place over two rounds and felt pretty slow. Mostly standard questions were asked about my interest in the Middle East, my career aspirations, and some situational questions. The offer wasn't great pay, and I was put off by the perceived lack of upward mobility.
