Process Engineer
It started with a 15-minute recruiter screen where they asked some basic non-technical questions about why I'm interested in this role, if I needed sponsorship, and if I was willing to relocate. They also asked if I had the skills listed on the job description. After that, they said they would schedule an interview.

Process Engineer
It was very straightforward. Since they were hiring for a startup location, they needed people from allied tech fields. I went through 3 rounds, the first was an online Zoom interview, then two rounds of in-person interviews.
- What led you to not continue your PhD research?
Manufacturing Engineer
The interviewers were 15 minutes late and didn't apologize, just sat down and introduced the team. It was a panel of 4 people: 2 hiring managers and 2 team members. The team members asked most of the questions, focusing on personality and conflict resolution, with not many technical ones. One hiring manager was on his phone the whole time and seemed uninterested, only nodding occasionally. The other manager asked a few questions. The team members were helpful in explaining the job and work environment. It felt very unprofessional overall.
