Design Engineer
I had a 30 min screening call with the hiring manager, then went through five 1-hour panel interviews. The panels covered RTL Verilog, Simulation, Debugging, Static Timing Analysis, CDC, and communication protocols like UART, I2C, and SPI.
- Could you explain what Metastability is?
- What is CDC?
Engineer
It was a one-on-one phone interview where they asked a lot of questions about my resume and also about device physics, needing me to explain the principles. The interviewer mentioned that if I passed this round, there would be another one-on-one interview and a panel interview.
- Can you tell me about what you did during your internship?
- Could you explain the linear region of a MOS device?
- Could you explain the saturation region of a MOS device?
Design Engineer
I got in through a referral, so definitely reach out to employees. The interview process was pretty chill, just 2 rounds with basic VLSI and SystemVerilog questions. They asked about VLSI basics like CMOS sizing, NAND and NOR circuits, and how to build logical functions with gates. For SystemVerilog, they covered blocking vs. non-blocking operators, language differences between Verilog and SystemVerilog, and talked about my projects.
