First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Michels.
Intern
I got a call to set up a phone interview, but I missed it and only got the voicemail. I think I called them back like 3 or 4 times, leaving voicemails each time, before they finally called me back. We then scheduled the phone interview. It was a pretty standard interview. The interviewer sounded like they've done this a million times, and I could hear them typing, so I bet they have a script. It was just a phone interview overall. Not amazing, not awful. I'm sure they're tough to get excited about, and I can't imagine doing in-house ones for people all over the country. I just finished the interview.
- What about Michels interests you?
- What are your thoughts on traveling?
- What are your salary expectations?
Intern
It was pretty easy and straightforward. They asked specific questions about my construction experience and what I wanted to achieve. They also asked about my learning goals and how I've dealt with and overcome challenges.
- Could you describe the biggest challenge you've encountered?
- Can you tell me about a significant challenge you've faced?
- What was the most difficult situation you've experienced and how did you handle it?
Intern
I drove to their main office (in Brownsville, WI) where I interviewed with 5 managers throughout the company. It was a little intimating at first, but the questions were predictable.
- What shoes do you wear?
