Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Michelin North America.
Sales Representative
I applied, then did an online assessment, followed by a video interview, and then a phone interview. Everything seemed to be going pretty well. The interviewer needed to look into the territory details and get back to me, but never did, so I reached out. They sent a rejection form two days later. I contacted the recruiter, but got no response. It was disappointing because I put several hours into this. Also, they want you to quit your job and do a 9-month training. If you don't get an 80% average in training, you're out, no job at Michelin.
- Standard interview questions.
Sales Representative
The interview process kicked off with a recruiter phone chat, followed by a call with Michelin HR. Then there was a homework assignment where I had to write an essay and answer questions. After that, I had an all-day on-site session with back-to-back interviews with important people and a tour of the main headquarters (tip: avoid high heels!). Some candidates were flown in for a second round of interviews, but not everyone. I wasn't flown in and got a phone call about 2.5 weeks after the interview series.
- Can you share your previous experiences?
- What are your aspirations for the future?
Sales Representative
It's a tough interview process. You know it's for a real job so prepare yourself for different kinds of questions. Make sure to research the company so you can ask questions too. If you haven't done this type of sales before, ask to go on a ride-along to get familiar with the job.
