First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Michaels.
Sales Associate
The interview process included a recruiter call where I was asked to describe a challenging moment in my career and how I reacted to it. I shared an instance where I had a conflict with someone and we were able to resolve it.
- Can you tell me about a difficult situation you've faced professionally and how you handled it?
- Share an example of a time you had a conflict with someone and how you resolved it.
Sales Associate
I had to do a lot of paperwork, filling out a form that asked pretty invasive questions about family using SNAP and benefits. There was also a mandatory assessment that kept asking the same questions repeatedly. After that, there was silence for weeks, and then I was told they weren't recruiting for the role anymore.
- How do you handle stress at work?
Sales Associate
The process was fast and very friendly. There was a questionnaire, but it moved quickly. The manager was friendly and the interview went well. It was a super friendly conversation. Seasonal positions are an easier way to get in, and after the season ends, it's easy to stay on as a permanent employee.
- What makes you want to work for this company?
