I applied on the MGO website and a recruiter reached out to schedule a phone call. On the day of the call, the recruiter was running late, so I emailed to check if we were still on, and then they called immediately. They mentioned they 'mixed up' the interview time and weren't sure about the location or the specific position I was interviewing for. They said they'd follow up, but I ended up being ghosted after that.

I had a phone interview with the Partner in charge of the Region which went well, and they gave me the green light to interview in person with a branch office. The Partner mentioned they were looking for someone with my experience and motivation. However, when I met the hiring managers, I immediately sensed something was off. I suspect they were expecting someone younger. I graduated undergrad at 30, so I think they might have been expecting someone around 10 years younger. You know that awkward look when expectations don't match reality on a blind date? I got that look. Unsurprisingly, they passed on me with the weak excuse that my background wasn't a good fit, which was strange given it was the reason for the interview. On the bright side, the office was in a terrible state; I'm not sure how clients would take them seriously. It would have been a significant downgrade for me.
