The interview process started with a 1st round phone call with HR. HR then sent the 2nd round of interviews within 2 hours. The 2nd round consisted of a 30-minute interview with 2 managers back-to-back. Unfortunately, I never heard back after the interview, despite sending 3 follow-up emails with no response.

Behavioral Technical

A recruiter from Cresta contacted me on LinkedIn about an experienced auditor role at MGO, saying my background fit. After sending my resume, an interview was arranged. I spoke with two assurance managers who asked behavioral questions. I sent a thank you email but didn't hear back for two days. The recruiter then took over 10 hours to say my industry experience wasn't a fit, which seemed like they didn't do their research. I felt MGO wasted my time, as they could have seen from my resume and LinkedIn that my experience wasn't what they needed, yet they still made me interview for over an hour.

Behavioral Technical Case

The process started with an HR Round for initial screening, where they wanted to know about my professional background, audit experience, and career goals. They also told me about the company's audit team, the role, and asked about my availability, notice period, and compensation. They also checked if I was a good cultural fit. Then came the first technical round with an Audit Manager/Senior Manager, focusing on external audit procedures like planning, risk assessment, testing, and finalization. We also discussed auditing different industries and financial statement items, and applying standards. They also asked about handling challenges, engagement management, and leadership. This round also had case-based questions. The second technical round was with a Director or Partner, focusing on more strategic aspects like key risks, dealing with senior management, and quality control. They also checked my understanding of regulatory requirements and my role in audit quality.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Could you describe your process for auditing a challenging balance sheet area, like revenue recognition or financial instruments, detailing how you identify risks and plan your audit procedures?
