First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MGM Resorts International.
Management Associate
I applied online and got a call a couple months later to schedule the first phone interview. It was with a corporate recruiter and was a basic screening interview with behavioral questions. About a month after that, I heard back to schedule the next interview, which was over Skype with a property executive and focused more on experience and career goals. The third and last interview was also over Skype, a few weeks later, with another property executive. I got the offer the day after the final interview. The next steps are drug and background tests. The interviews weren't hard, but the whole process takes a while. It's super competitive though, they look at over a thousand applicants.
- Can you share an example of a time you showed leadership?
Workforce Management
I applied online and about 3 weeks later, I got a phone call to schedule the interview. When I got there, I met with the hiring manager, who is the Manager of Workforce Management, and her boss, the Director of Workforce Management. They asked me about my experience and background, like usual, and then I had to take a computer competency test. After the interview and the test, before I even left, they told me they had already hired someone for the job. I felt really disrespected that they made me go through the whole process when they had already decided on their candidate.
- Describe a situation where you couldn't finish a task due to issues like poor communication or insufficient time, and explain how you managed it.
Assistant Manager
The interview process was very thorough, concentrating on my background and what I can do. I had one-on-one chats and also met with the VP, Retail HR, a random Store Manager, and a small group panel. Lots of the questions were repeated but always about my customer service background. They were cool with me not having management experience, relying a lot on the referral I got.
