First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MGA Research Corporation.
Test Engineer
I applied online and then set up an interview time the very next day. This was honestly one of the worst interviews I've had. The HR person I talked to seemed unhappy with their job or the facility location, and it really came across in our conversation. I was taken aback having to spend time convincing them I understood what an engineer does and that I'd be fine with the location. They don't send rejection emails, which feels really unprofessional after an interview, especially since it's so easy to automate.
- Standard personality questions.
Administrative Assistant
I got a call about an interview and picked the first slot, a Thursday morning. I did some research on the company and got there 15 minutes early. They led me to a conference room and said they'd be right with me. After waiting 15 minutes, two people came in for the interview. They started by asking me to talk about myself, then asked what I knew about the company. I shared its history and current standing, which seemed to surprise and impress them. The interview was about 30 minutes, covering my work history, skills, and salary expectations. I was told I'd hear back by the end of the next week, but they called on Tuesday with a job offer.

Test Technician
I first connected with people from MGA at a career fair on campus during my fall semester. They then scheduled me for a phone interview, followed by an on-site interview about two weeks later where they gave me a tour of the facilities. I didn't hear back with an offer until my spring semester. The whole process wasn't too stressful, and the people were pretty nice, though some of the engineers during the on-site seemed a bit unprepared.
- What makes you want to join MGA?
Calibration Engineer
Great Company. The work and research this company does saves lives, that's the most interesting part. The interview is generally in three parts: 1. Phone interview, 2. On-site interview, 3. Hiring manager. I did really, really good in the first and second interviews. In the second interview, the manager was impressed with my skills and knowledge. The only thing that doesn't make sense to me was they don't tell the real reason why they did not select you. They would simply say that 'We think you are not a good fit for the position.' At least there should be a legitimate reason why I or anybody is not a good fit.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- What motivated your decision to pursue Engineering?
- What are your reasons for seeking employment in the Automobile industry?
