It started with a recruiter who was pretty vague but made the role sound intriguing. The actual process kicked off with a hiring manager, who they call Principals. It quickly became a technical deep dive where I had to prove myself. Then I met with about 3-4 other people. The company's big vision wasn't super clear until the last interview with the CEO. The CEO was incredibly sharp and asked questions in a unique way, using allegories to understand me better rather than standard interview questions. It was tough to keep up, but it gave me a much clearer picture of the vision, culture, and my potential role.

I had a phone interview with the manager, then went to the office to talk with another BA. Everything seemed to go okay, but there were some concerning signs: apparently, the current employee in this role wasn't aware they were going to be replaced. I was advised to dress professionally but not so much that it looked like I was interviewing to take the current person's job. After we talked, it seemed like they've had a lot of people in this position over the past year. I also got a bad feeling about the CEO, so when they asked for more interviews, I decided to pass.

It was a lengthy process, probably 8-10 hours total. The CEO really doesn't seem to value people's time. He made me wait an hour and then just wanted to talk about my experiences and what I'm proud of. He wasn't satisfied when I mentioned building automation frameworks, which is a big deal for QA. Instead, he told some weird story about catfish and how the third generation was the deadliest, causing poisoning. I didn't really care about that. After waiting an hour, it felt like a total waste of time. It's like he's trying to seem impressive to someone who's actually achieved more. Good thing I didn't get the offer, I would have turned it down anyway. I have better places to be.

It started with a phone screen, then I had an on-site interview. I met with 3 senior managers (Principals) to see where I'd fit in, with about 10 minutes waiting between each meeting. After them, I chatted with the CEO about the job openings and which ones I liked. Then I went back for more interviews and got to see the software and a demo after signing an NDA.
