So the interview process started with a screen with HR, just asking some basic stuff about what I knew. Then I had a video call with the Hiring Manager, which was way more in-depth, covering my work history and the usual engineering questions. After that, it was an onsite interview where I met the head of engineering, someone from HR, and two hiring managers. The head of engineering was cool and let me grill him with questions. HR asked more situational questions. Then the hiring managers showed me around and we just chatted to see if I was a good fit. I got the offer a few days later.

I first met with a recruiter at a career fair, and they asked about my interests and the position. After that, I was invited to the company's HQ for a long one-on-one interview with the head Mechanical Engineer, which included a tour of the facilities. They said I'd hear back in three weeks. It took over a month for me to follow up, asking if they needed more information. I never got a response. Two months later, I got a generic email saying they weren't filling the position anymore, but it was clearly a template response for an interview at a college career fair I never attended. They mentioned a college I have no connection to and got the interview location wrong (HQ, not campus). They also cited 'issue X' as the reason, but that was already discussed during the interview, so it wasn't a new issue. Overall, I'm glad I'm not working for a company that handles things this unprofessionally.

I started with a phone interview with the hiring manager, which was a relaxed chat. After that, I visited their office and met with four different people, each for about 30 minutes. They also gave me a tour of the facility. A few behavioral questions were asked, but mostly it was about getting to know me, which was nice. Overall, everyone I met was great.
