Intern
The interview process for this co-op position was quite straightforward. It involved an assessment focused on Excel skills and attention to detail. While the interview questions were generally standard, there were a few that touched on transit-related topics. The interviewers were friendly and understood that in-depth transit knowledge wasn't expected for a co-op role.
- Can you share an example of a challenge you faced and explain how you handled it?
Intern
So I had two interviews. First up was with HR, and if that went well, the next step was an interview with the team. The HR chat was pretty chill, mostly about the intern program and seeing if I'd be a good fit for the company. The second interview was more like a standard interview, asking typical questions.
- Can you describe how you'd prioritize your tasks and what actions you would take?
- What steps would you take to prioritize your workload?
Intern
I applied and got a call about a month later. I went to their office for an interview with 3 managers who asked questions. It was mostly behavioral questions. They asked if I knew what the department did and I said no, but they were fine with it. I think the interview went poorly because I didn't prepare and didn't sleep. It was one of the worst interviews I've had. Surprisingly, I got the job the next day. HR took about two weeks to send the offer. They used Sterling for a background check and asked for 3 references, though only needed one. I started a month after that.
- Can you tell me about your greatest strength?
- Describe a situation where you took initiative.
- What do you know about what this department does?
