First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Metrolinx.
Project Coordinator
The interview process was straightforward and quite fast. The hiring manager was pleasant, which eased any potential stress during the conversation. I received a job offer a few days after our discussion.
- Could you describe the responsibilities associated with the Project Coordinator role?
Project Coordinator
The whole thing took over 3 months. A month after applying, I had to do a written technical test. Then, about a month after that, I had a panel interview. The HR department and the actual hiring office do not communicate well at all. There is no flexibility for applicants from outside the province. I had to pay for flights and hotels to attend both the test and the interview because there was no other way to participate. The interviewers on the panel were surprised I had to fly in, like HR hadn't told them. It was a mess. Don't apply if you don't live close enough to drive.
- How does your education and experience align with this role?
- Describe a time you contributed to a group effort to complete a task.
Project Coordinator
The interview process was a 1-hour phone interview because of Covid. It included the project manager, division manager, and HR. After the interview, I had the opportunity to ask some questions. HR provided an update afterward.
- Could you tell us about yourself?
- Can you describe your experience?
- Do you have any behavioral questions for us?
