Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Metrolinx.
Business Analyst
I had an initial HR screening, then a 1:1 chat. The toughest part was a panel interview with three people. After that, I had a more casual chat with the Hiring Manager about production support and dealing with stakeholders.
- Can you tell me about your technical background or experience?
- Do you have experience with production support?
- How do you approach managing stakeholder engagement?
Business Analyst
The interview process had three stages. It started with a HR screening call, and finished with a presentation delivered to the hiring manager and another manager. All in all, it wasn't a super tough interview, but you should definitely get ready for the situational interview questions.
- How would you handle employee resistance when introducing a new tool?
Business Analyst
I applied online with just my resume and didn't hear back for 2.5 months, then got a call for an interview. It was a panel interview with 2 managers and the recruiter. They were really nice, but the construction outside on Front Street and York was super loud and made it hard to hear. I'm not sure if that affected how I did.
- What action would you take if provided with a software patch?
- Can you detail how you manage a tough challenge or project?
- Share an instance where you showcased systematic thinking.
