Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Methodist Healthcare System.
Nurse
So it was a standard interview with a peer section. They asked me about my goals, my experience, and my ability to work with others. They also asked about the company values and what I found interesting about the unit itself. The whole thing lasted about an hour and I spoke with the director, the manager, and a few nurses who work here.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
Nurse
Krist, after you fill out your application, you might get invited to an interview fair. From there, you could get a callback for another interview, an offer, or no offer. You also have the chance to interview for more positions. The education coordinator will work closely with you to find a role that you want and is a good fit.
- In your own words, where do you see yourself in the next 3 to 5 years?
Registered Nurse
I applied online and a recruiter reached out to arrange interviews for my top 3 unit preferences. The recruiter was helpful, sending common questions to prep with and scheduling around my availability. However, after getting an offer from one unit, my preferred unit kept postponing and rescheduling my interview, sometimes canceling the day of. After over a month of this, they finally canceled my interview an hour before it was supposed to happen, saying the position was filled. They then pushed me towards the initial offer I had. I considered it because the pay was better than other offers, but Methodist wouldn't provide a written offer before acceptance, unlike other facilities. This felt shady, and other nurses confirmed similar experiences where offers changed. So, I decided against it and chose a lower-paying facility, but my goal unit.
- What motivates your interest in working in the X unit?
