I applied because the job description was outstanding, showing real thought, not like many EA jobs. The hiring manager, Marc Stockman, wants a business partner, not a secretary, and knows how to leverage an EA. The first step was answering 13 questions (one question wasn't recorded). I took my time, and then moved to an automated interview. This round gives about 40-45 seconds to read a question and two minutes to record a response. The questions were reasonable, testing quick thinking given the short response time. I appreciate the process, as it’s prepared me for future interviews. I disagree with other reviews; hiring is tough and time-consuming. Metabolic has a smart system to narrow down hundreds of candidates. They invest time upfront for better results. If I don't advance, I respect it's because I lack the skills, saving both parties time. I recommend serious EAs apply; it's a win-win – either you get to work at a great company or gain valuable interview skills.

Metabolic's hiring process is really thorough and takes a while, so keep that in mind. I actually liked how intense it was because it let me really show off my skills and if I was a good fit. Here’s how it went down: First, the application with some long screening questions (took about 30-60 min). Then, a 15-min video interview. After that, an IQ test (60 min). Then, I had to do work samples (30 min to get them ready to send). Next was an interview with the CEO (they gave me 30 min to watch a video beforehand, then the interview was 60 min). After that was a challenge project, specific to the role, which took 3 days to complete, plus a 30-min video explaining it. Finally, I had an interview with the VP and COS. The whole thing took 23 days from applying to getting the offer. It was a lot, but I got to show what I could do, learn about the company, and the team kept me updated almost daily. They even told me how many other people were still in the running, which felt good. It was a unique process, and I felt it was valuable no matter what. If you don't have the time or aren't up for a detailed process, maybe don't apply. But if you're serious, go for it – there's a lot to gain.
