had multiple interviews with different advisors and management. It was three rounds over three weeks. Each round had different roles and different questions. Most advisors asked how you would build a business. Others asked about your qualities and asked for examples. They wanted to see if you understood the challenges of coming into the business.

I went to an informational session in mid-February, then had my first call with a recruiter. About two weeks after that, I spoke with a FADP Performance Manager for a more detailed phone interview about the area I'd be working in. It went well, and they wanted to set up my final in-person meeting with an office head manager. They made it sound more like meeting the manager and potential teams rather than an interview. They said to call back in 3-4 weeks to set up a time to come in. This was in early March, and around that time COVID started picking up. I followed up since I hadn't heard back and was told the hiring process was pretty much on hold, and they weren't making offers unless someone already had their 7 and 66 licenses, which I don't. I was really hoping for this job, but I get that COVID messed things up for hiring.

The interview process was pretty quick for the initial phone call, lasting about 30 minutes max and covering basic stuff about my past work. The next call involved answering questions about my ideas for building a business plan and getting clients. The person I spoke with for this second call seemed kind of uninterested from the start, and we didn't talk much back and forth. Honestly, it probably would have been better if I'd just sent in my answers to the questionnaire about new business stuff. After talking for an hour with someone who barely said anything, we wrapped up. HR then got in touch about an hour later to say there weren't any more spots open in the Chicago office. I just wish they had been more upfront and saved us both some time.
