First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Merlin Entertainments.
Marketing Manager
Started with a recruiter call, then a hiring manager interview. Next was a face-to-face interview in London responding to a brief. Unfortunately, I was ghosted after the final interview. I tried reaching out to the recruiter multiple times for an update but got no response. It's disappointing to invest a weekend preparing slides and traveling to London only to receive no feedback, especially given the company's purported focus on people and customers. Others I've discussed this with are also quite surprised.

Finance Business Partner
Had an initial screening call with HR. I thought I was going to have an on-site interview, but it ended up being virtual. Then, I was invited for a second stage in person that was more casual, just to get to know the team and stuff.
- Can you tell me about your past experience?
- Specifically, how have you handled stakeholder management?
- What examples can you provide of your stakeholder management abilities?
Marketing Coordinator
I found the job on Linkedin and a recruiter reached out a month later. We had a 30-minute phone screening. The recruiter was super nice and professional, even texting me updates about my next interview with the Marketing Director. That second interview seemed to go okay, but I never heard back. I had to chase the recruiter for an update, and the next day I got an email saying I didn't get the job. Honestly, I don't think I would have ever gotten an update if I hadn't asked.
- Can you share your experience creating social media content?
- Have you previously collaborated with influencers?
- How would you describe your organizational and project management abilities?
Marketing Manager
It was the best job interview experience I've ever had in my life. Although it is not yet known whether I am the desired candidate or not, I was treated with care by human resources, almost like a guest. The General Manager was both extremely professional, a great speaker, a good listener, and also a very humane person, I greatly appreciated his attitude and energy. He gave a sensory-rich explanation of the firm that made it seem as though I was living it. Then they hosted me at Legoland and Sea Life, where I was even more fascinated. I don't know what it is like to work for the Merlin Entertainments Turkey team, but it is a great chance to have an interview experience there.
- Can you walk me through your resume, detailing your role and the business?
- Tell me about the projects you accomplished in your previous role.
- In your opinion, what constitutes the formula for a well-functioning team?
